The football games this weekend should prove to be fun and exciting. Georgia Tech was off last weekend and will play Virginia Tech in Atlanta on Thursday Night. Both teams have to win and to secure a high ranking in the poles. This should be a game full of excitement and joy. Tech wins for sure.

Nebraska and Penn State play on Saturday and shoud have a large viewing. A lot of the viewers might be tuning in to see if JoePa is going to lead the team or be banned from the stadium. My pick is Joe stays home. What do you think?

Florida and South Carolina play on Saturday in Columbia. This is a must win for both teams, and the team that is the most resilient will prevail. Both coaches will be fired up and ready to display their craftsmanship. My pick is the Gamecocks.

Kentucky at Vanderbilt should be a nail biter. Both teams are trying to compete for rankings in the SEC East and need a win to move up. My pick is Vandy.

Texas A&M and at Kansas State should be a thriller as both teams are powerhouses and have great coaches, dedicated to excellence. My pick is Kansas State.

Auburn at Georgia is one of the oldest football rivalries. It is always a great game, full of fun, excitement and stress. I have attended many Georgia/Auburn games and they were all fun. In 1959, I saw a game that Georgia won in the last seconds. It was exciting and all the fans were cheering. Both Gene and Mark are great coaches and it shows. This should be great as both teams need the “W” for the SEC East lead. My pick is Georgia.

Tennessee at Arkansas will be fun to watch and Coach Dooley is organizing his notes to devise a plan to upset #8 Arkansas. It could happen, so watch some of this game. My pick is Arkansas.

The sport so many people love is College Football. The beginning of November is prime time for exciting games. On any given Saturday, each team has an opportunity to win the game, whether they are picked to win or not.

Florida beat Vandy and Vandy almost got the upper hand, but the Gators held on and marched on to a win. Florida’s and Vandy’s football programs are struggling, and their respective coaching staffs are working hard to improve their standings.

Georgia beat up on New Mexico State. Some of Georgia’s new players came out to prove they can work hard to help secure a win for the Dawgs. One guy ran into the famous hedges and had to be pulled out by his friends; they all cheered when they got him out; that makes it fun. Hedges can be dangerous when attacked; it was just good that he did not run into UGA, the Bulldog.

Kentucky beat Mississippi and that was a game that could have gone either way. All Mississippi has to do is decide to win and they will. Kentucky has the plan and they employed it.

Tonight is going to be South Carolina against Arkansas. If Arkansas can beat the Gamecocks, then Arkansas will be looking good and visa versa. Now Georgia Fans want Arkansas to win because they lost to South Carolina. It is anybody’s game and should be a thriller with Steve and Bobby leading their packs.

The Alabama and LSU Game has been called the “Game of the Century”. Collegiate fans will be tuned in to watch this shoot out. I think I know who might win, but will reserve the right to express my guess. This will be fun to watch and the winner will be the team who never sits still.

Georgia Tech is off this Saturday.

FSU beat Boston College and this was certainly not a nail bitter. FSU is struggling and that is not saying much for Boston College. BC can turn this loss around and win next week, if they think that.

NC State beat North Carolina and half the state is rocking and the other half is not. North Carolina needs to get some plans together and get back in the rankings.

That’s it until next time. Stay tuned for the report that gives credibility to all.

The Georgia Florida game just happens to be so huge. The last time I was around that game was in 2007. I was with my Mother, her friend, Frances, and my son and his friends came to see us. We did not stay in Jacksonville, we chose to stay in St. Simons, which was rocking and rolling. There are cheers and laughter and chants and more laughter. The pre game activities are something to behold. It is a group of people just raring to have fun.

Everyone is hoping that their team is going to win. Only one team will win and the other team will be miserable. This is a great rivalry and probably is the biggest game that each school will play during the season. It is about an hour bus ride to Jacksonville from St. Simons. It is fun going down, but coming home is hard. The traffic is the mother load of all traffic jams. Going in to the game is quite fun, going back home is not too much fun. All you are thinking is…”just get me out of here.” The Police really do a great job in Jacksonville.

In 2007, the Friday before the Saturday game, we looked out on the beach and couldn’t find it. It was covered with people and the beach was no where to be found. It was party city and everyone was having a great time. The party seems to never end and that is ok with everyone as they have no intentions of ending anything. The next day you either get on the bus to take the trip to Jacksonville or you get your TV ready to watch this momentous extravaganza. It is a fun time and the fans love their school and want to win big time. It is not for the faint of heart.

This Saturday, October 29, will be a fun day for Clemson and Georgia Tech to meet in Atlanta. Don’t bet any of your money on Clemson, as Georgia Tech has come back from a loss and stomped on their next opponent, many times in the past. Whichever team wants the win will surely walk or run away with it. Dabo Swinney knows what he has to do, and so does Paul Johnson. Should be exciting to watch or attend.

The Georgia/Florida Game or The Florida/Georgia Game, depending on which fan you happen to be, should prove to be full of excitement and anticipation before and during the game, and for some afterwards. Folks have been getting ready for this extravaganza for months now. It is a huge get together and the electricity in the air is indescribable. We have stayed in St. Simons and Jacksonville. Although they are both tied with fun, St. Simons is more for the Georgia Fan. One time we were there and did not go to the game and watched it in the condo. Outside a man brought and hooked up his wide screen tv and watched the game on the beach, and that attracted quite a crowd; fun and more fun. We could see the game on his tv from our condo. The Gator fans were happy that day. Should be a great slug fest on Saturday, and the winner is up for grabs as each team is capable of winning and taking home the bragging rights. Going only a few miles home can take forever if you lose.

Alabama is off this weekend and that is good news for them. They are playing LSU the next week. This ought to be a game full of strength and agility. No one can successfully pick which team will triumph over the other. I wouldn’t be surprised if the half time score is zero to zero. This is a game that any college football fan will not want to miss. Should be a thriller. Stay tuned…….

Anything can happen and usually does.

Vandy is surprising itself and could prove to be successful this season. The coach has a plan that could work.

Kentucky has a long way to go to win some games; it is doubtful that their season will come out on top. Watch to see how the blue handles the noise.

The teams that Tennessee faces in October could make or break their season; hopefully, they can get it together and win. Being a young team is not a factor.

Florida is full of tricks and could possibly win big against the other schools. Although they are young, they have the reputation of winning to scare everybody.

South Carolina is in the winner seat and time will tell for the old ball coach just how long they can make it on top. The quarterback controversy should clear up by itself.

Georgia started off in looserville and has quickly turned the tide to winning. The October games will explain if they are good, bad or ugly.

Stay tuned…….The SEC West in the next blog.
